The dolls are 28 inches tall, they weigh 2lb, are made of fleece with non allergenic polyester stuffing and wool hair. They are washable, have openings for nostrils, ears, genitals, mouth and a tongue that rolls out, some have teeth, some are bald with a wig. Some dolls have a chest opening and a little heart.
Each doll carries a small Dr. kit, for practicing medical procedures.
The dolls also carry a purse or backpack holding six different facial expressions, which easily loops over the dolls ear. Trying on the different expressions is fun and therapeutic giving the child a new way to communicate their feelings. Also
giving parents a tool to help their child express emotions. They wear three to six month old baby clothing so the child can shop for dolly clothes at local second hand store, creating a whole wardrobe of fun clothing and shoes. The incentive of dressing the doll will be excellent for your child's fine motor skills. Looping the various facial expressions on to the dolls face also encourages fine motor skills.
The dolls are designed with tactile defensiveness in mind.
For children who have sensory issues the soft fleece and wool hair are a nice tactile experience. Also the inside of mouth with rolled up tongue give the child an opportunity to investigate. The parent can play a game putting various objects into the mouth cavity for the child to find.
Each doll has a unique face and a unique combination of skin and hair color. Some are bald, some have spotted skin or different body and skin color. The idea behind these variations is to nurture differences and enjoy diversity.
